Miracle Theatre bring their magical twist and love of laughter to the classic story of Peer Gynt. Young Peer is a lazy dreamer, who misinterprets Shakespeare’s advice “To thine own self be true” to mean “Look after number one”! He chases after riches and pleasure and lives a life of moral failure and endless excuses. Surely, he will come to no good? Loosely based on Ibsen’s epic comedy, this famous morality tale is perfect material for Miracle Theatre’s highly visual style - physical, funny, surreal and deeply human - a journey through the dream-like world of Norse mythology, peopled with cranky characters, trolls and other bizarre creatures – a comedy of terrors! CAMP Theatre Company- The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen's Dramatic Society Murder Myster

Three decades before The Play That Goes Wrong opened on the London stage there was The Farndale Avenue Housing Estate Townswomen’s Guild Dramatic Society Murder Mystery. Mrs Reece, doyenne of the F.A.H.E.T.G. Dramatic Society sometimes thinks her shows are jinxed compared to productions s he has seen at the Old Vic and Stratford-upon-Avon (“of course, they’re not as adventurous as us”). For some inexplicable reason lighting and sound cues are sometimes misplaced, lines are forgotten and there was that unfortunate time when the set collapsed; at least the Stage Manager is now out of Intensive Care. Tonight’s production, though – the self penned Murder At Checkmate Manor – promises to be a triumph. With a cast of five, some of whom have acted before, the plot is a real cracker. Will Lady Bishop survive the night? Have Colonel and Mrs King made a wrong move? What fate awaits Mrs Castle the cook? And did Pawn the Butler really do it? Throw in a delicious recipe for Lemon Souffle, a Fashion Show featuring the perennial winner of the Miss Farndale Beauty Competition plus a Murder Mystery Quiz with a prize for lucky audience member and the evening is likely to linger long in the memory. The band from the 1960/70’s that just keeps giving. Featuring Thijs Van Leer, Pierre Van Der Linden, Menno Gootjes and Udo Pannekeet, Focus return to UK and European concert stages during 2027. Fresh from successful 2026 touring, and the 2024 release of their new studio album Focus 12, they will traverse Europe to give their loyal fans what they always want - a good time, and timeless music. Each song breathtakingly unique, and each performance different to the one before. How much longer will Focus tour? We have had 50 years of this amazingly spectacular show, and Focus have achieved so much in this time span. ABOUT FOCUS From Polydor's record plant closing to other bands, to press nothing but Focus for ten days to meet demand, to being a favourite of Bob Harris on The Old Grey Whistle Test, and to holding positions in the UK top ten charts in both singles and albums. Focus have featured in the orchestra pit for Victor Spinetti’s musical Hair; have claimed a knighthood; soundtracked on a 2010 football World Cup commercial featuring Wayne Rooney; and not forgetting that Hocus Pocus was featured in the iconic car chase sequence, after the bank heist in 2017 movie Baby Driver and also featured in Disney’s Classic Trolls World Tour movie, 2020. The men of Focus are looking forward to seeing you all at their favourite venues, and a few exciting new ones too. www.focustheband.co.uk ABOUT STERTS Originally a pig farm, Sterts is a four acre site where nature and creativity collide and is home to the Barn Theatre (400 seats), multi-purpose Sturrock Studio (50-70 seats) and Community Hub. Following a period of major redevelopment in 2024, the original amphitheatre is now covered by a solar powered barn, which is run solely off renewable energy. The Barn Theatre has retained the original amphitheatre bench seating, so we recommend bringing a cushion to sit on. The Barn Theatre is wind and rain proof but is not a heated space. Therefore, we encourage you to dress for the weather and embrace the elements. Wrap up warm and bring a blanket – especially in the spring and autumn. FOOD AND DRINK Our on site bar stocks drinks from The Cornish Wine Company, snacks from Redmoor Snacks and Ice Cream from Treleavens Luxury Cornish Ice Cream. Our bar opens one hour before Barn Theatre performances. Sterts does not have an onsite cafe, so we recommend visiting one of our local pubs, restaurants or farm shops for pre-show food. Our bar is staffed by our wonderful volunteer team throughout the year. Audiences are welcome to bring a picnic to site but please do not bring alcohol to the premises. HOW TO GET HERE Sterts Arts & Environmental Centre is in Upton Cross, just six miles from Liskeard, eight miles from Callington and ten miles from Launceston. Sterts is within easy reach of the A30 and A38, a one hour drive from Truro and 45 minute drive from Plymouth. Public Transport is limited. Want to limit your carbon footprint or save money on fuel? The Barn Theatre is a 150m walk from the car park with level access to seating at the top of the theatre. Hand rails are installed on the far left and right of the seating. Our Barn Theatre does not have a lift or hearing loop, however there are plans to install these in the future. Our seating is unreserved, however we will always reserve seating for audience members with access needs and are happy to provide chairs if needed.
